Darkness Comes Ashore in D.L. Tracey’s Psychological Thriller,
Galilee
A Novel by D.L. Tracey
Some villages keep their darkness buried. Galilee kept its buried alive.
A chilling tale of faith, fear, and the human soul unfolds in a quiet fishing village—where no one is piecing together the signs.
In Galilee, author D.L. Tracey masterfully blends psychological tension, spiritual conflict, and haunting mystery to create a story that lingers long after the final page.
The novel follows Father Hickey, a newly ordained priest whose first assignment takes him to The Church of Saint Peter, a small parish perched at the edge of a weary fishing village. Expecting a peaceful beginning, he instead steps into a disturbing mystery—the sudden death of the priest he was sent to replace.
As Hickey struggles to find his footing, he befriends Michael McDonough, the worldly owner of The Crow’s Nest bar, and Janie, a young waitress burdened by a troubled past. But beneath the surface of Galilee’s windswept docks and salt-stained chapels, something sinister stirs—an unseen force threatening to consume the village itself.
Galilee grips readers with its slow-burning suspense, emotional complexity, and vivid portrayal of moral decay. Tracey’s writing explores how innocence, belief, and guilt collide in a world where evil hides in plain sight.
“Galilee isn’t just a horror story—it’s a mirror to the human soul,” says author D.L. Tracey. “It asks what happens when faith faces fear, and when good men ignore the signs.”
Fans of Stephen King, William Peter Blatty (The Exorcist), and psychological dramas like The Wicker
Readers will find Galilee an unforgettable descent into the dark side of devotion.

Galilee isn't just a horror story — it's a mirror to the human soul. It asks what happens when faith faces fear, and when good men ignore the signs.
A weary fishing village. A new priest. A death no one will explain. In Galilee, the tides carry more than salt — and the congregation knows more than they'll say.
The plot is artfully unpredictable, and imbued with an ambient atmosphere of foreboding. Tracey has fashioned an intensely gripping tale, a story intelligently undergirded by a thoughtful reflection on the elusiveness of one’s spiritual purpose on Earth.

Praise & Reviews
Awesome story! At first, I didn’t like Father Tommy Hickey because the moment he arrived at his first parish, he had nothing but complains. But then I realized that even though he’s a priest, he’s just like any of us who has hopes and dreams.

Full of suspense and tension as one yearns to learn more about the characters, their fears, and the reason for their behaviors. The vivid description of the characters makes them realistic and distinguishable based on their physical traits and personalities.
