Esker
reviews

Something lurks on the Esker, a mystery that won't reveal itself until the very end.

As the sun bled out behind the treeline, darkness didn’t just descend upon the Esker — it claimed it. The ridge fell silent in that way only ancient things can, as if the land were holding its breath, listening. Park Ranger Ryan Gallagher felt the familiar chill coil up his spine, the one that had been stalking him for weeks. Something prowled this place. Something older than the park, older than the town, older than the stories people whispered when they thought no one could hear.

He stood at the edge of the wilderness, staring into the black seam where the forest met the storm‑drain tunnels carved decades earlier. Every casualty, every disappearance, every scream swallowed by the Esker pressed against him like a weight he could no longer carry. Determined to end it — or be added to the tally — Gallagher stepped forward, deeper into the ridge’s shadowed heart.

The Esker did not welcome him. It waited.

And in that waiting, Gallagher understood the truth: whatever haunted this land was not hiding in the darkness. It was part of it.
